MD, MSc is the chief of Joint Replacement and Adult Reconstruction division of the University of Miami / Jackson Memorial System, he is a full Professor with the Department of Orthopaedics at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Originally from Colombia, Dr. Hernandez completed his fellowship in Joint Replacement and Adult Reconstruction at the Rothman Institute. While in residency, he also completed a Master’s Degree in Clinical and Translational research. He has extensive training in hip and knee joint reconstruction, and complex revision, as well as patella-femoral and uni-compartimental arthoplasty, robotics, wearable devices and augmented reality. His research has focus on outcomes, technology, disparities and cost effectiveness analysis after joint reconstruction. He has won multiples award and recognitions, due to his outstanding scientific contribution to the Orthopedic Association. He also sit on the boards of Directors at the American Association of Latinos Orthopedic surgeons and is the actual chair of International at the AHHKS association.
